What's up everyone. Hope everyone had a good and safe Halloween! Mine was spent studying for an exam but enough about my spooky studying session LOL. This week in class we were given the opportunity to explore the idea of second life and VR (virtual reality). Second life I felt like was something I needed more time to explore and really get used to the game. It was different than any other game I had played before and I don't know if I play it again but was definitely an experience to see those who do the the platform seriously how they went about the game.
What I was most excited about was the VR headset we could try. I have heard so much about them and having never used one it was hard to understand the technology or be able to form my own opinions as to what I make of VR. However after trying it out im blown away as to why this technology is able to do and how its on going to get better kinda blows my mind. Be sermersed in a different world was unreal and nothing like I ever expected to be when using this. Being taken from my classroom to a haunted house with VR was something I never really expected to happen. It really is amazing to me to see where VR technology is going and how its just not used now for video games. They use this technology in hospitals and to give people perspectives on how to handle real life experiences. This is something when it becomes more affordable for the general public it will be everywhere. All I can think of is the movie that came out a little while ago called Ready Player One. It is about a video game that captures a public's attention and as it is a VR experience it becomes not a second life but the public's main life. Now I don't think that will happen but I feel like when VR becomes easier to access we will see more people really feel like they are living there real life in a second life world. I feel like there will be more positive to come out of VR than people think. It won't be for just people to be hanging out in there room all day. It will be used by all sorts of companies and other organization. I'm excited to see what comes out of this in the video game world and how else this gets implemented and used in real life settings. Well thanks for coming to my short Ted Talk on the VR world. Hopefully someday you can understand the power of the technology and what it could possibly mean for humans and how we play games.

Ugh! I’m so jealous, wish I had gotten to try the VR. Sounds like it was a mixed bag for a lot of people.

It's so cool to think that the possibilities for VR are endless! I am interested to see how it advances going into the future.
